2008 is ending by today, I wish you all have a better 2009. I always hope new year is something we can cheer about and our life is going to be better and better. I am looking forward to 2009 as it going to be a better year for all.

I know 2009 is going to be better than 2008 because there are more vision and things to be done by 2009 and I can see economy is going to be better and better starting from next year.

Another thing is Petrol price will be remain low on 2009 and every one is happy with life. Hope all my wishes will be come thru for 2009 la.

Interview

The job position offer is perfect for you, and you are pleased that have been selected for interview. You dressed your favorite and best dress to give you confidence and impress the interviewers. With some chewing gum inside your mouth to make sure you have a fresh breath for the interview.

The experience should be enjoyable. The interview should be good to improve your own communication skill, where mutual understanding, exchanges of information and ideas, allow both you and your interviewers to reach a decision.

Some people think that interview is for employer to choose on a person to work for them, as for me, I think interview is provided 2 ways choice for employee and employer to decide whether want to work with each other.

And the last part will be the shaky and sensitive part to talk about which is wages that can afford by the company and benefits that can be offer by this company. This might be a turning point to make someone to accept the offer.

So, this is interview.

Group interview just cannot work

Recently I just went for an interview which they organize it with group interview. All candidates will put inside to talk about the question prompt by interviewers.

I found it weird as this might not a good interview method for some people, for people their talent is not talking and skills, they definitely cannot win the job as this is what we call war, and you need to grab your chance to talk more. I had a bad experience in this interview because the other 2 candidates not really good in English and they confused with the question prompt from interviewers and keep talking about something out of the topic.

They really affect my performance because they keep talking none stop and I feel very uncomfortable with the situation and end up I only manage to talk for a while only. I don’t think this is a good idea to have a group interview because you cannot judge every person correctly.

I think one on one interview will be the most effective way to track the individual performance.

Manchester United crowned kings of the world

Last night is the night to remember for Manchester United’s fans because Manchester United was crowned kings of the world by beating LDU Quito 1-0. Rooney scored the winner by 73 minutes into the game and grab the winner after once Nemanja Vidic’s red carded really worried me.

The game is quite slow because opponent’s team Quito is never thinks about winning the game by just sent some attacking force to play the game. They only hope for a draw I think.

With this trophy, Manchester United can added extra trophy records at old Trafford stadium. I hope there are more to come by this year. And they are flying back to england for EPL's matches. Let's see how they get back with a boom.

I hate video & flash ads

I been browsing web site for information, data, and news. And I realize that some website like to put some video and flash ads at the main page of the web site and come out with some irritating sound when viewing their website.

Some irritating flash ads that will prompt you to their site also in the top ranking of my hate thing when browsing to the web site. Some are shouting non stop when you move your cursor over the ads. I think I am getting old which never attract to some idiot idea when come to ads streategy and this kind of ads might make me leave your web site forever.

I think web site owner must think about it when you subscribe and earn money by this kind of affiliate. It will make your web site reputation drop as well if they hate irritating ads like what I feel.

Quiet and interesting graphic ads will be more practical to attract visitor’s attention to browse thru the ads. People prefer simple and easy to understand ads.

2008 is ending soon

Time flies as 2008 is going to end, and it’s time for you to review what you had done for 2008. This year was a bad year for me and I cannot make true my targets that I set by early of the year 2008.

One of the failuires this year is I quit my master degree because of the stupid lecturer delay my progress and force me to end my study because she is not interested to help me. For me is a waste as I have been working very hard this year, but end up because of the lazy lecturer I failed to complete it. Some times world is unfair, but life goes on.

I didn’t switch company to further my enhancement of my career because of master’s degree as I need more free time to do my thesis as this company can provide me this. But end up my career is stuck because of the master’s degree.

What is haven’t happen for last year, I will try to make it by year 2009. I will have to finalize the next year resolution as I need to really make it dream come true for me and have a better next year.

Cactus point @ Cameron Highland

Cactus point can be found beside the road from Tanah Rata to Brinchang. There are a lot of flowers, plant and of course the main course is cactus. Cactus is selling at there cheap, planting accessories can be found at there as well.

Some of the big cactus is not for sell. You only can manage to capture some picture for memories. Friends of mine like cactus so much and she ask me to buy her some as souvenir for her. This is the second time I bought for her. But most of the time she will complain that she already got it. So, if you are a cactus collector, make yourself to Cameron and choose yourself to avoid same kind of cactus in your collection.

If you like planting, make sure you grab some from Cameron Highland because they really take good care of the plant. I got grab some Plants and cactus from the shop and put it at my balcony. Some expert advice can be getting from the promoter there.

Strawberry farm

Strawberry farm is one of the interesting places we went to for the Cameron Highlands trip. My sister is a strawberry lover and she was very excited to see fresh strawberries to be plucked by ourselves in the farm. She loves strawberries so much and has eaten for few boxes during our stay in the Cameron Highlands.

Strawberry farm is a must for strawberry lovers and you can enjoy cheap and yet fresh strawberries. And gifts like strawberry umbrellas, key chains, caps can be a good souvenir for friends. You can also find those gifts selling everywhere in Cameron Highlands.

Apart from only strawberries, there is dried food produced from strawberry which is good attraction as well, for example strawberry ice cream. They dried strawberry with honey to make money strawberry which I feel very delicious to eat.

I don’t really enjoy strawberry, but I did have some during the trip.

‘BOH’ Tea Centre @ Sungai Palas, Cameron Highland

There are few tea farms in Cameron highland, we only manage to go for the one nearer to Berinchang because of the rain. The tea centre is located at Sungai Palas.

You need to drive for like 20 minutes from the foot of the hill to the middle of the tea farm and to reach the tea centre. I like the idea of the farm design as we can take a fresh breathe alongside the tea farm and enjoy the natural scenery.

Tea Factory

Tea farm is one of the must-visit places in Cameron Highlands. You can pay a visit to the tea factory there. There is also a multimedia room for visitors to see a short documentary of tea processing and the history of tea factory. After that you can also pay a visit to the factory and to see how they process tea in real life.

Gift Shop

There is a great gift and tea products shop inside the tea centre. You may find it on the way to the tea factory. You can see lots of packaged tea products and some gifts specially made representing the tea farm. I managed to find imported coffee during my last visit, but this time. Now, there are only BOH tea products.

Tea'Ria café

Not to miss the favorite spot of mine: the Tea'Ria Café. It’s actually located at the front part, but normally people will pay a full visit of the centre then get back to the tea café to have some good taste of tea and cakes.

The Tea'Ria café is partitioned into indoor and outdoor areas. Naturally, the strategic spots outside at the balcony are normally hard to get. When we were there, the cold weather forced people to sit inside rather than getting frozen outside. We tried to sit outside and acted hero, but ended up surrendering to the weather and hide back inside the café.

Tea Farm

So, I strongly recommend tea Centre at Sungai Palas as a must-visit in Cameron Highlands.

Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands is one of the tourism spots in Malaysia. What are the interesting places you can find in Cameron? If you are people who like entertainment places like disco and pub, Cameron Highlands might not be a good place for you, because there are only natural places like bee farm, tea farm and strawberry farm to visit.

For me, Cameron Highlands is highly recommended for family trip, if you want to bring your parents to somewhere quiet and with windy weather. And the activity for dinner that cannot be missed is steamboat session because of the cold weather. Cameron Highlands is full of places where people plant vegetables. So you can just easily get fresh vegetable for steamboat.

Strawberry farm is a must for strawberry lovers and you can enjoy cheap and yet fresh strawberries. Tea farm will be must-not-miss sport if you’re visiting Cameron Highlands. BOH tea is produced from Cameron Highlands and you can purchase all sorts of BOH tea after the visit.


Along the roadside of Berinchang, you can see lots of stalls selling vegetables and strawberries. Some unique souvenirs like hot cakes and strawberry umbrellas.


Bees can produce lots of honey. Nowadays people keep talking about natural and healthy ingredient for food. You can pay a visit to the bee farm and get a pure honey which is collocated by bees from the bee farm.

I did enjoy my weekend in Cameron Highlands, hope you all will enjoy too!

Good working environment

In order to keep a good employee, employer should think out of how to provide a good working environment for employee and they feel like home to work for you. Good working environment doesn’t mean that it must be fun. It can also form from just having a healthy relationship between colleagues.

This is secondary issue that I will consider when decide to leave this company, because it will lower my moral to improvement myself.

Some company full with office politic and there are 5 grouping in just 20 employees, this is unhealthy because they keep gossip about the bad things and infect your spirit to work and got influence by colleague who try to bring bad image to Company. Too much of rumors can be getting bad reaction from employee as well.

To all bosses, don’t ever try to bring in your relative who not fit to the position you’re your company. Hiring friends and relatives is tricky. If not handled well, it can sour the work environment. Personal disputes can affect business interaction. Other employees may feel that a boss' relative gets special treatment.

Why I say so? This is because a serious situation that having in my company which my boss’s brother is working same company with him and when he says something, no one dare to complaint even it’s wrong.

Worst thing is his brother can just use boss name to threaten people if not following his point of view. But most of the time, they are the winner of the argument. Every staff are low in moral to work hard nowadays because of the working environment.

Gadgets that I wish to have

Every one must have their wish list for the Christmas, I have mine as well. This list can consider my all time wish list as I am working hard to get it. Ad some I already got it by this year.

1. Camera phone or PDA camera - this year I got my PDA phone from my friend’s mobile phone shop which I think is not a good buy, but this is consider one gadget I manage to grab this year

2.i-phone – i-phone is a gadget that I admire of, but come to reality. Maybe I won’t buy it as it’s expensive in price.

3. PSP – I always dream of getting one PSP to play, because when you are away from home and out for a vacation or some travel. This gadget might help you to fill the free time while waiting to arrive some destination.

4. DSLR camera – this is my highest priority of this year which I still looking for a good and budget one for my amateur photographer level’s trail.

5. Camcorder – I like Camcorder’s idea as we can capture the moment of truth of our life and refresh it when we getting old. I missed out lots of happy moment in my life as I only can refresh using my memory because there is no one have the camcorder last time.

6. Portable GPS system – this is something new in my wish list as I started to like this tool as it help we navigate when drive in a unfamiliar places.

How to handle Bad boss-my theory

If you have never had a bad boss in your employment history, count yourself lucky. Bosses who lose their temper easily, can’t communicate, can’t accept different view of opinion of theirs, saying bad words during work is some example of the managerial misbehavior.

Unless you’re rich, you’re probably not in a position to tell your boss to take this job and shove it. What can you do if you get a boss who’s the biggest obstacle for your job? I actually facing the worst boss ever in my life and I am going to share with you how to handle him. Even I am not handling well in the situation that he won’t listen to any advice made.

My boss is a hot temper boss who always come out with @&@#%$ words when he is angry. Off cause every time, I am not the shooting target. So, I always ignore his words and listen to the radio when he shouting inside the office. Kekeke..

My boss is hard to communicate as when there is some problem happens, don’t try to explain, because this will even put you into a very difficult situation. I always keep quiet until he finish what he want to sound out, then immediately you need to say something or else you will get this “AM I TALKING TO THE WALL!!!!” So, you must have ready with the data and good solution for his concern. If not, you will have to listen to the shouting all over again.

I am working with a non-IT boss who never like IT, and I always stuck with him with some non-sense criticize like why we need to depend some must on system? What I can do is keep quiet and listen to the crab, and just keep silence with his criticize because, just because he is the boss. Yeah right.. tell me about that..

I been survived from working at this company for 3 years and this situation is happen since day one of working at here. I am proud of myself to making so far so good in this company.

Most hated department in your company

Look at the title, you might have some department in your mind now. But let look at the department that you hate the most. My vote will go to HR department in my company.

Why? It’s simple, do you see any HR department do the people sourcing for 4 months and still can not even get a candidate to just an interview. I think they are simply lazy to follow up on the advertisement budget and give up on the task.

They don’t have a proper format to organize their procedure and they always missing some document from tracking some important information and ended up with some excuse that people who leave never handed over their information.

I think they are simply irritating because of the not so care attitude. You will know it if you see their working attitude here, I had been struggling with the low production HR department since day one I joint.

I always question myself why people can be so irresponsibility on their role and left lots trouble to other people. I think people’s personality is the main factor of the issue.

What to do? So, HR is my most hated department in my company.

I never own a printer since my Canon bubble jet printer spoiled and now I am thinking of getting a printer for photo printing purpose. I am surveying thru the internet to get the budget but good printer.

Nowadays the famous among the printer will be all in one type, they can print, scan and copy. The cheapest one for all in one printer will be costing like RM500-600. For me RM600 is not a big amount, what I am concern about is the cartridge’s price. This is something will cost you for long term.

I think I still need some time for survey to get the better printer that suite to my needs. Do you have any good printer that used before to recommend to me? Or maybe bad experiences that want to share with me?

Mines Wonderland – Don’t go

Last night I was there because of some special request from my cousin who never been there, and it’s really sucks. The place is not maintain well and it is matter of time to get this place demolish. This is my fifth time gone there to fulfill my friend, family, and relative’s curiosity.

Inside the mines wonderland, they convert the Snow house to winter house and maybe because snow house needs higher maintenance fees. And the place as messed out and without proper maintain as well.

There are tigers in the cage to visit and they all like very sleepy and sleep all the way when walk over their cage.

The place is quite dark for visit, as last time when we pay a visit. The boat goes out to round the lake is still free of charge and now you need to pay extra RM8 to take a ride.

The only attraction can be found at here is only musical fountain, and it used to be very interesting part inside mines wonderland. But I think there is nothing to be proud about. Let me show you some photo of it.

What you see is what you get, and the color changing with the music. And it follows by 3D Aqua Laser Show. And that’s all. The last part is Russian Magic show, which the magician will walk his way out to the stage and arrange his so call equipment needed for his magic and it takes a very long time until we gave up on that show.

Lovely balcony with table and chairs

I started to fill my house with some furniture and my house feel more like home. I got 2 chairs and table from some furniture shop to fill the empty space at my balcony and let me enjoy my free time at my lovely balcony.

These house appliance I got it from small furniture shop at Sea Park. It looks like chairs that using at coffee bean. I chosen aluminum’s type is because raining will never spoiled them.

When I am free, I will lay at these chair at my balcony and read some books and enjoy the scenery of SS2 with a cup of coffee.2 Chairs cost me RM100 and table cost me RM100 as well. this is consider good price, but I don't know how long can it stand. hehehe....

Still thinking of more things can be bring into my house at this moment and will post about it when I got something new.

Addictive

What activities can be very addictive? When you get your hand on it, you will never think of out from it. Some people can answer my question as they will easily get addicted with PC games. And stay for all long night to finish the whole game as soon as possible.

I told my friends that every thing in your life is actually addictive and you doing it every day, every week or every month without notified. Like football game, I watch it every weekend and when come to weekend I will stay at home at night and get myself watch every game if can.

Every day I have to drink a cup of Nescafe to make myself awake. This is also one thing that I addicted as well. and maybe a cup of coffee will do. Sometimes I feel that I had too much of coffee.

Gambling is also something can make you addicted with it like when you get your hand with betting in 4D, you will think of it when come to Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Shopping for woman can be one of the addictive thing that they will never forget about, you will know it when come to MEGA SALES.

I think this is true that everyone got their own addicted things. So, what is yours?

KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), yesterday opened for subscription one billion new units of Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020).
To ensure fair distribution to the investing public, a maximum limit of 10,000 units has been set per account holder during the offer period ending Dec 3.
The maximum investment limit would be void after the offer period, it said in a statement.
With the additional units, the fund size of ASW 2020 would increase to 10.42 billion units.
ASW 2020 was launched on Aug 28, 1996, with an initial fund size of three billion units.
ASW 2020 is a fixed priced unit trust open to all Malaysians aged six months and above, subject to a quota of 51% for bumiputras and 49% for non-bumiputras.

Skytrex Adventure @Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Sri Alam

Skytrekking was fun! It was so fun till I can’t wait for the extreme challenge to be ready.

I’ve made the booking 2 weeks before, and the only time slot left is 2.30pm (gosh, must be hot hot hot, I was thinking). But still I took it. We have 8 of us, 4 guys and 4 gals, all departing from PJ.

Skytrex Adventure is located at the Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya Sri Alam. We took a free shuttle bus from the entrance to where the Skytrex Adventure actually takes place. It was just a mere 5 minutes ride. Along the ride, we were showered with fresh air…

Once we got there, we went straight to the counter and to register. We were not asked to pay upfront. You’ll only have to pay after finishing the challenge. Each of us got the equipments, a locker and a pair of gloves (RM1 per rent). The instructors were there to equip us.

One of the instructors gave us a briefing and demo on using the equipments (the hooks), safety and some “flying” tips. We started right after the briefing. And because we were the smaller group (there was a 15 person group with us), we got the start first (lucky us…)

I am ready !!

All together there were 25 challenges (according to their website, cos I’d actually lost count half way thru the challenge), and we started with climbing a 17 meter long tree stairs (it was tiring). Then we crossed a zigzag trek (it was so high up, that I couldn’t see the ground.. and I did chicken abit there. I just kept telling myself, don’t look down and don’t think about it…).

The challenge start from here

The challenge that I hated to most must be the hanging tubes. The distance was short, but it seemed so hard. The instructor kept telling us to step a feet at 1 tube at a time. But the tubes kept swinging, forth and back, left and right, which we couldn’t really step on them. After struggling for a few moments, all of us managed to walk thru (yoo hoo!)

Then it came this tarzan swing. This I must say was the hardest for me. We were supposed to swing with a rope, step on a plank, and catch the next rope with the other hand. But, I just couldn’t reach the plank. I couldn’t recall how much time I spent there, but it was definitely long… but well, I din chicken out thou :P

There were several chicken exits throughout the challenges, but none of us did chicken out. Hooray!

After about 2 hours of the fun time, finally we got to the end exit. All of us got wet cos it just started raining right before we got the exit. But still we enjoyed it pretty much.

I must say Skytrekking is really awesome and we really had a great time there! And there’ll be an extreme challenge ready sometime in March next year. We are so looking forward to that!!

For a month I have been looking for a place to grab the limited edition BPL star figurines. I am thinking of getting all the figurines for collection. Finally I got it yesterday from One Utama shopping complex. As you walk out from parkson towards old wing at 1st floor. you can see BPL star is lining up a wall and waiting for your free kick.

Maxis are doing some promotion and this time they giving out free figurine when you purchase top up card, upgrade your maxis plan or pay your bill.

Normally you need to top up more than RM30, upgrade your maxis plan or pay your bill for buying the figurine for RM7.50 each, but yesterday they giving out free when you top up for RM30. I just pay for RM90 and I can get 3 figurines for free Instead of buying them for RM7.50?? Ok deal

So, immediately I purchased 3 x RM30 top up card and get 3 of them.

Previously I wrote a post stated Recession impact to my company. My company is so called public listed company in Malaysia. Today is the day that confirms my company is hitting badly by global financial crisis. Why I say so? This is because my company’s management comes out with the stupid idea and wants to save some money from electrical usage. Let me show you some photo of my office.

Gmail with colorful themes

I am a hard core supporter to for Gmail. Even though I use Outlook for work; Gmail is my choice for personal because the conversational grouping is easy and it comes with the chat bar that allows me to communicate with my friend instantly.

Today I came in to office and I realize that Gmail live their themes selection features. Now, user can enjoy some colorful layout with Gmail allow users to select some provided theme so that user won’t get bored with the default layout. The Themes selection menu can be found at the email setting tabs.

Long holiday in December

Starting from 6th December to 14th December, there will be a long holiday for me because of lesser order from our customers. My company needs to shut down for a week. This is also a good time for me to take leaves and enjoy trips with my family.

This is actually the first trip for my parents after my mom recovering from her long illness and the last trip was last year for my sister's convocation. That was around June 2007.

We plan for lots of activities for this week; 6th December we are going to Cameron for a whole family trip. Since my mom has never been there and my brother managed to get an apartment in Cameron even at the super peak period. We will enjoy a full 3 days 2 nights retreat there. Next, my parents will be coming to KL and stay with me until 14th December.

For that week, I will be bz bringing them visit our relatives and meet up with their old friends to have a long nice chat. That’s what they dream of. And we are heading Genting on the 11th December as my father likes to try his luck, alot. :D And he seldom go uphill actually. For them, Genting is a must if want to stay in KL. Hahahaha..

They will be going back on Sunday, and my mom keeps telling me that this is their first time taking flight. I think I shouldn’t tell them early as my mom will keep excited and cannot sleep until the day. Hahahaha..

During that period, I will bring them to Batu Caves one day or maybe Kuala Selangor. This is all things to be decided by them.

I am quite excited with this holiday, hope we can really enjoy it.

Stupid 10% toll discount for highways

10% toll discount for using highways from midnight to 7am starting from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2010. We Malaysian been struggling from paying a high fee of toll and now they decide to give discount on only midnight to 7AM?

For my opinion, this is not a good idea. Just imagine people who travel and reach Ipoh toll by 11:55PM. They will wait at beside of the road for the time to reach 12AM. Means that the road will congest with cars and accident might happen because of this.

Another thing is the discount only start by midnight means that there will be more people driving during midnight to 7AM. This will get people to force themselves driving and might increase chances of getting unnecessary accident like fall a sleep when driving.

And people who force themselves to make it get the discount they will try to speed up the time to make in before 7AM. Means speeding problem will be more along the highways for discount period.

If really want to give out discount, why not just generously give up 10% all day long? And don’t make people choose they time of travel?

But after all, this is really something better than nothing for Malaysian who always using highway like me.

Recession impact

People around the world been worried about the recession and how big the impact my company got as a local company in Malaysia. My company is doing semiconductor and a listed company in Malaysia. This recession is hitting my company badly as my company starting to cut on the production cost in order to survive from this recession.

Last month was still ok as customer still put lots of order from us, but this month and coming December month will be dropping 30% order and management started to panic about the over production cost versus income.

This month management instructed all section managers to control Over Time in all area and they even come out with 0 OT email announcement to all officer in my company. When come to less order, company shut down will be necessary to cut cost and then follow by cut headcount. And worst to worst, jobless people are increasing and impact economy in this country as well.

As people are looking at this situation is as bad as 1997 now and government still very optimize about it, but I am not sure what their reference about the impact of recession is. No more joke as I can see it myself in my company.

Broadband service still suck

In Malaysia, most of the people have been struggling with the low speed of the broadband provided by service provider. And until today we still not up to the global standard as many countries can provide higher speed than Malaysia.

The Internet is a modern trend. This step in technology has enabled countless people to communicate, to trade and to learn more effectively than ever before. But people still counting on some better offer of broadband service provider to give them less headache broadband service.

As per now, I think TM been monopolize the broadband market but still uncertain with the service provided. And the slow of the technology enhancement on the broadband service still a main concern of today’s consumer.

For other service provider, please speed up the development and make our life better. We are hoping for better future of technology in Malaysia.

NO More fuel Surcharge from Airasia

"No Fuel Surcharge" is introduced for all seats on AirAsia and AirAsia X to relieve guests from paying the fuel surcharge fee. And today onwards you can book for 0 fare seat which Airasia is having promotion for next year starting from June until October.

With "No Fuel Surcharge", AirAsia's seat prices will consist of only the air fare, administration fee and airport tax and you will enjoy even lower cost of travel from AirAsia and AirAsia X. The lower fare will also mean that you'll enjoy more savings, please grab some seat during this promotion period.

This is no kidding as I search thru for KL to Alor Setar flight and it just cost me RM60 for return tickets. In fact, it’s cheaper than go back by bus. Better act fast or this free seat will fully book if you still hesitate.

What I have learn here

Let me start with one interesting fact “Money Changes Everything”. Many of you might know that I am working at one of the local manufacturing company. this term money might be the big challenge in my work.

Base on “Money Changes Everything” statement, many of you might think that I am talking nonsense about this, and every one knows that this is a fact. But any of you really can spend more in your company’s system structure to let a better up time happen for your in-house application? Money is the unspoken, ugly secret that controls every project in your company. If budget is no one would have downtime and all system designs and operations would be prefect (at least theoretically).

The budget in company is one of the first thing management concerns about, it attached strongly to your project and it will determine on what you will be able to achieve, just base on the hardware spec and you will get the picture.

Base on my working experience here, top management are not willing to spend when come to invest on a non-valuable asset like server. Many local manufacturing companies are very rare to see they can invest a bounce of money to develop their in-house system and make it perfectly work in order to assist the main operation work.

So, what I learn in this company is really valuable as I need to work in a tight budget and provide the best system base on what I can provide. This company grows me to a better planner and good in the management mind as I need to take care of the IT budget and provide good solution.

Should we cut EPF contribution?

LOWERING the rate of employees’ contribution to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) temporarily is part of the Government’s bag of tricks to rouse the economy. With lower the rate, people will have more money to spend.

But the main thing that people concern is how much is your EPF will be when you retire?
Can your EPF funds generate enough income for you when you retired? How much else needed if your EPF is not enough?

The EPF interest fluctuates between 4 and 6, if you are lucky this year which government doing well with your money. You can get 6%. Else you will get 4% which not much difference from Fix Deposit.

Assume that you have 50K in your EPF by your age of 30 and you are earning 54K a year. With 23% of contribution of your salary might go to EPF. That means that you will get RM 12420 by end of the year. Plus 6% interest is 13165.

We assume that you are getting 5-10% increment of your salary by end of the year, this is base on normal increment rate. I think you can get about RM 500K by your age of 55 years old. Is this enough for you to retain your living cost after retiring?

With government is implementing the new rate, I think for some people they prefer to take out their money in EPF to invest in other places like stock market by next year.

For those who think that you are not satisfied with EPF savings, you should cut the contribution and start some investment now to gain more fund for your old age living, but bare in mind that investment have their own risk yeah.


With government cut down member contribution to 8%, you can have extra money to invest by next year, but final decision will be on you to cut or not to cut the contribution.

Refer to the CNN’s news, Obama inspires historic victory. I can see America ready to change and Obama told supporters that "change has come to America," as has its first African-American leader in the history. What a big change!!

When I look back to Malaysia, this cannot be seen at here. Because politician in Malaysia are still playing trick with races issue and make us uncomfortable with stay in Malaysia. Do we still need to stick with old thinking and keep stay with undeveloped mindset? And keep playing with races issue to win the crowd? Please be mature and please look at how other country development.

I don’t know if there is any improvement in the future, if Malaysia does, means that Malaysia already developed to be a better country. I hope I can see this day in my life when Malaysian can live like a one nation one race in this country.

Windows 7

Windows 7 is the next version of Microsoft Windows and the successor to Windows Vista. According to Microsoft's statement Windows 7 would not be released until January 2010 because Windows Vista was released to consumers in late January 2007.

For my point of view, I don’t see Vista is successful enough to replace Windows XP and Microsoft will try to come out with a better solution to replace Windows Vista and Windows 7 might be the ultimate solution for that. They will try to release by next year as I predict. I am not sure how true it is, but I am really looking forward to try it when it’s ready to use.

I think everyone is also very optimize about the development and hope that new version of window can be very useful and suitable for every individual and every professional.

Reduce lottery draw?

Today’s star newspaper, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he felt this was necessary as having 10 lottery draws a week was “too many” and that it would deplete the income of many families, especially in view of the current economic situation.

I think this action is good to take as people are starting to addict with the gamble since the economy is facing down fall. I think people are trying their luck on gamble to gain some “extra Income”.

But the question is how as this will minus some income earning from Lottery Company as they also trying to gain more during the economy crisis.

Will government take some action towards the suggestion? Let’s see in the near future for what will happen.

UM is not up to the global standard

I saw interesting news that stated Malaysia’s government plan to attract more foreign students. If they are going to attract people to study at UM, please don’t as I don’t think UM is up to the global standard.

Let’s refer to my case is enough to explain how bad is Malaysia University. I was struggling with my Master’s degree in UM last few months and I gave up earlier this month because of the irresponsibility of my supervisor bring me to the end of the journey of my dream.

Back to 4 years ago as I am not under this lecturer and my previous lecturer are acting the same and lastly she left for further study. When I switched to this lecturer I though she can help me to complete my thesis, but she never mean to help and ask me to change my topic and I need started it over again. Sigh ~~

Last month she told me she is going for a long holiday; and ask me to find another supervisor again. I think I couldn’t find lecturer like this in my life any more. The worst thing about her is always never turn up for the appointment. She can really forgot about the appointment and I need to wait for her like 2 hours and still she never turn up. Another bad habit about her is never reply email.

Just imagine, lecturer working in UM never treat every email importantly. How can you be so irresponsible?

This is unfair for me, and now she is leaving for her stupid holiday without early notice.

So, please reconsider before study at UM. You will struggle when come to “serve” your lecturer. They are simply sucks.

MLM is hot now?

When global financial crisis is under way and product is found with melamine and unsafe to eat, what is the best business to go for. The answer is MLM (multi level Marketing).

This business is damn hot now, I was eating with one of my colleague last night and suddenly he come out with the bad situation of the daily product like milk, biscuit and so on have melamine inside and leading to kidney stone and other renal failure.

The best part is when he touches about their product. He tries to match the current food poisoning problem with their product helps. And even telling us that working at company are not secure any more as we need to do our own so call “business”. Then he tried to show his return from MLM.

I feel they are talking to the wrong person, as some of my friends are doing MLM as well. I am not interested in this business because I don’t think I like the job function. Oppss. Sorry, should be business function. Kakakaka.

But this is getting too much for me as I got lots of call from long missing friend and their motif is to promote MLM as well. What the heck!! Their slogan is the same as can do your own business and at the same time can help people.. Yeah.. Right ~~~ Tell me about that.

At the first place, I am neutral about MLM. But this is too much for me and I started to hate MLM. Hey, friend. If you are doing MLM please try to understand your friend’s situation and don’t losing a friend because of your so call “business”.

How to be a good leader

It’s very easy to be a leader, when you work in a same company for a period and you are performing well. It will come to time for you to lead a team for certain task and hold some responsibility. So, you are a leader.

But the question goes to how to be a good leader? If you are struggling with the formula to be a good leader like me, you might take this as a reference. This things I found it very interesting to have when come to be leader.

1. Communication - communication is the must between you and your down line, this make thing goes easily and team is working between same lines in certain objective. As a team leader you need to spend even more time with your team member to know.

2. Showing good example– most of people never treat this as an important thing when they act like a leader. You as a leader always complain about your boss, your down line will do the same as well. You as a leader always breaking company’s rule. Your down line will follow as well.

3. Appreciate team’s effort – this thing is a must for me as I found and need to practice it like sometime team like to praised, they will feel appreciated when you thank them. I am leaving this company because of my effort never get rewarded. This will make me feel that my work is not being appreciated and the return I got is get scolded when something goes wrong.

4. Really listen to your team - some idea from your team might be good and really listen to their opinion on how to improve the team. Don’t ever try to avoid some good ideas that threaten your position. Don’t always scold them when come to discussion.

5. Catch up with technology – new generations are used to every new technology. So, do accept that technology is improving and learn it if necessary to catch up with team or you will be left out from the team.

I think that’s all I have to say to make a good leader and some of the points I get to know when I refer my boss’s bad behavior, learn from the bad example. kakakaka.. He is going to kill me if he sees this post. Yiak~

Malaysia is not in financial crisis?

This maybe a big question mark for Malaysians today as they realize that the global financial crisis is hitting badly the European countries and as we know it will indirectly hit the Asian markets as well.
Today, government of Malaysia has just announced that our country is not one the countries shaken by the financial crisis. Hmm… Is that true?

Many of us who live in Malaysia are not quite sure of how bad we are hit by the global financial crisis and some people are still optimistic over our current situation and are still betting on the share market and hope that the market will rebound soon and earn some $$$ from that.

From my point of view, I am not sure how bad is the global financial crisis hitting our country but Malaysia economy is definitely in crisis. You can see people trying to cut their spending and you can see this when you hang out at those famous shopping malls in town.

Share markets are insecure because of the news going around and government are trying to make people calm by slowing down falling speed. I think this is a sign of the instability of economy in Malaysia.

I can see people worry about the future of the country situation and some of them think rise of the petrol price is one of the main factors that make Malaysia in this crisis.

Maybe I am wrong about the situation. So, what you think??

It’s safe to keep your money in bank

Everyone is aware of the global financial crisis. Malaysia has agreed to provide a blanket guarantee on all bank deposits in their respective banking systems. I think this is considered a good news for Malaysian as people worried global financial crisis will hit Malaysia’s banks.

Today people are taking out their investment fund at trading market and put back to bank as safest place to keep their money. This is an ideal plan as now you might don’t know what is going to be for Malaysia share market because the uncertainty of the global financial situation makes investor escape from the infection.

For those who really keep track of the Malaysia trading market should aware that index points been drop to 27 Months low and it still showing bad sign.

So, I predict that people will think that it’s better to save money in bank rather than do some investment now.

Running around the office?

In this company, people are not familiar with IT system and the infrastructure of the IT. I always get scold because of sitting at my place when some problem occurs like System hang, Headquarters’ email server down.

Especially when email server down, by that time I need to remote checking on the email server or contact headquarters’ counterpart to check for me on the problem. My boss will come out from his office and scold me why you still sitting at here and doing nothing? I was like hello!! Should I run around the office and shouting email is down and does like fire is burning and shouting “Email server is down!!! I am fixing it by running around!!!”

Today it happens again, what to do?? You are the boss, you like me to run around; I will do that for you. Kakaka…

Can someone predict future?

Predicting future is an unexplainable phenomenon and still able to capture believers around the world. Let’s me make it clearer about the word - prediction. Making a prediction means describing an event that will take place in the future, in the past this was often called a prophecy.
There are many types of prophecy in the world. People make predictions by judging the patients’ reaction, analyzing their hands and many more. Can they really see future of you? The fact remains, no one can make accurate predictions consistently. Some predictions are correct and maybe they just got good luck. Though many of them would dispute luck is the main factor of the successful “prediction”.

I used to bet on football games. I can predict the score correctly and consistently for 5 matches. So, that means I can predict the future. What I can say is that that was just a good result from a bit of luck plus good match and historical analysis.

I do not believe in fortune telling and I think no one can predict my future. What if you tell me: “This coming November is much better time for me to start a new business”? I mah need to borrow some money from Ah Long or Bank to start an unknown business as I never plan one. Sigh~~~

And the story might not end by November, you might come back to me and tell me: ”you missed a golden opportunity and you never have luck after this.” Then I mah as well as go to die because no luck liao. Sigh~~~

As I said, no one can really predict the future. Please do more preparation and planning for your future rather than just wait for predictions that might or might not be true.

I am back after dropping my master thesis

Today I feel relaxed after after making a final decision to drop my Master’s thesis from my life. I have been struggling with thesis progress, changed title, changed supervisor, and out from blogging for like 3 months. I am back now to blogging world again and started to focus on my own system again.

It’s a bit painful when come to decide not to continue my thesis after I have finished almost 60% of my system and finish half of my documentation. This decision came to me after I saw my lecturer’s last email. That comes with long story below.

Starting from this semester, my supervisor committed to me and said she would help me on my thesis as I've decided to make it the final semester for my Masters. So, I've dated with her that I will make it Fridays as our appointment day to discuss my thesis. For the first few weeks were progressing fine. She tried to discuss with me when we met.

Slowly, she was back to the kind of attitude just like the previous semester that she was always not around on Fridays. I always waited for 1 hour and left a note for her hoping that she can get back to me. And immediately after I went back to my house, I sent her an email for appointment the week after. And I waited for a week and she still never replied. The situations continue until last week. She sent me an email to make an appointment on 29th Sept 2 days before Raya. Previously I am ok with the date, but unfortunately as my role in my company as a technical support, I need to work on that day. I sent her an email to postpon the appointment but never got any replied from her. I thought she was ok with the plan to meet her this week.

But last night she sent me asarcastic email and said that I didn’t turn up for the appointment as she allocated the whole day for me. I was like stunned and the best part is she mentioned that she will on leave starting from November and back on January for some plans. I almost fainted when I saw this.

I think this is not a sudden decision to take leave, she should have planned it from the beginning of the semester. She was trying to push the responsibility to me that will make her feels better. I don’t think this is fair for me. And I need to find another lecturer to follow up on my thesis? And maybe I need to change my thesis title again because new supervisor never understand about my thesis?

With this kind of lecturer around, I think UM’s rankings is going to drop again.

Now, I am kind of release from tension after all as I need not to act cute in front of someone like my supervisor. No need to act nice when my lecturer did something wrongly. Keep sending her email to make appointment even though no response from her.

My Chatting Program

Many of you might know that I like to create program. This is one of my creations as I am using PHP, ajax, MySQL to create a simple chatting program. This is part of my Master’s thesis system, as I need a chatting panel to communicate when doing the PACT analysis.

Off cause this is not purely my creation, I read lots of books, search thru lots of web site then I come out with my own one. It looks very simple, but I really need a simple one for my system.

The Cave, SS2

We had a birthday celebration come gathering at The Cave last nite. The Cave is kind of a hang out place in SS2 lately. I’ve seen some bloggers talking about it.

We didn’t make any booking, therefore there’s no special Cave room for us. We basically have to share the cave with others.

Altogether there are 4 floors in there. The biggest cave (which is the whole floor) is on the 3rd floor, and there’s a bar area. 2nd floor was closed last nite, so I couldn’t see. And the 1st floor has all the couple caves. The ground floor is where the reception is. It has a rather small waiting area.

The food was ok, erm.. not really great. But it has lots of varieties, from fusion, chinese, snacks, burgers to western. The food is rather pricey, a ‘Wat Tan Hor’ is priced about RM12, and a chicken chop is about RM24. And it comes with 10% service charge and 5% govt tax. Overall, I think The Cave is worth a try, especially for the interior.

** Oh, and if you feel chilly, you may get the waiters to get you a blanket.

five things I hate about myself

You might hate about yourself about some bad habit that happen in your life, I also got some that make me hate about myself. I am listing out all and get myself improve about my weaknesses. Five things I hate about myself are:

Fat- you may think I want myself to be better looking, but I don’t think this is the main factor. The main reason is I like sports, my big tummy will make me work harder to run and always hard to do some difficult stun.

Snoring- This might be one thing happen when you are fat, you know the impact when you go to some vacation with group of friends, they will kind of mentioned it after a night. This thing happens and makes me seriously shame on it because it might disturbing people when I fall a sleep, I have no choice but always replied with “last night was too tired la, normally don’t have one..”

Too committed to work- this thing been hunted me since first day I started working. I always worry about work even after office hour. Start planning about tomorrow’s schedule and task during night. You might think this is a good habit to maintain, but I don’t think so because this habit causes me sleepless night.

Hot temper- I am a hot temper I know it since I was child and I am trying hard to control It myself. I may get angry because of the non proper handling of projects and not committed to work. I got frustrated if you make me wait for more than 10 minutes of the dated time. I know this is hard, but I still trying to improve myself. My natural born anger face make me look even worst, people always misunderstand that I scold them when I trying to talk serious with them. Sigh~~~

Think too much and worry too much- I always worry about things will happen in future, I always worry about dateline, always remind myself about bills to pay. This bad habit makes me turn old faster, if you see me you will understand my statement.

There are still some that I never list out here but not having major impact of my life. I shortlisted those major factor for improvement. Hope that I can improve it in near future.

Thai Yummy Food this weekend

we've got some very easy-made but yet very tasteful thai food recipes from our fren. they got it from their honeymoon in krabi after taking the cookery package. :D

we are going to have a thai food day this weekend where we're gonna prepare our own tom yam, som tam and the deep fried pandan chicken. and maybe the mango sticky rice as well.

oh, cant wait for weekend! i'm not going to share out the recipe yet, as i'll only post it after saturday. cheers!

Long holiday?

Next week suppose to be a long holiday for my company as production will shut down during Hari Raya. I can take the whole week off and enjoy the long holiday and maybe go for the vacation. But my department left only 2 people working. Me and another girl, she planned to go back to her hometown. So, I need to standby.

“Standby” means that I need to be around my company area, and you can claim over time allowance if they call you for support.
My boss tried to act cute and told me that I can just take leave and if any one call I need to come in for the support. I was like “Hello!!! Then why I need to take leave as I need to standby, better still I just cancel my leave and work like normal.”

With leave applied and I come in to work I only can claim Over time allowance and not even replacement leave. So, I argued with my boss and cancel my leave and that result will keep my leave balance unchanged.

So, there is no long holiday for me next week as I need to work instead of “Standby”.

Found this interesting “Guess the sketch challenge” game on facebook. Hehe.. you can tell from the name rite. This is how it works. A bunch of users join the group. Each of the users get a chance to sketch a word picked randomly by the application. For example: protection. So now please use your creativity to sketch the word out. If it were you, what would you draw? This is where your creativity comes in. I’ve drawn a man holding a shield. Ofcos there are ppl who guessed knight, shield, fighting. But also there are a few ppl who got it. The higher marks the sketcher would get with more ppl guess it correctly.

Red Devils is going to take some beating

I think it time for Red devil to take some beating again as they just successfully signed the long waited striker Berbatov.

Sir Alex Ferguson told United's website: "This is a key signing. Dimitar is one of the best and most exciting strikers in world football.

The transfer saga end by the last day of the transfer market after dragged for a month, I was so nervous about the transfer. At last Man Utd manage to get Berbatov Signature that make Man Utd squad with more striking options. I think most of the Man Utd fans were worried about the deal, because Manchester City was try to bid for Berbatov as well.

£30.75million is quite high amount of money to spend on a striker, but still worth it if Berbatov can help Man Utd to defence BPL champions and bring more trophy back to Old Trafford.

Really can’t wait to see him play for Man Utd. I am looking forward to the match against Liverpool. Hope he will bring some magic to us.

Traffic Jam

Traffic jam has always be an issue to all KL-ians and Selangorians, especially on rainy days.

Sometimes, I just don’t really get it. A small little car accident could cause the whole road to be jammed. Sometimes, there are even no accidents on the road. It just simply has a lot of cards moving very slowly. And once you bypass a certain point, the traffic gets better.

I read a book from Tom Vanderbilts, called Traffic – Why We Drive The Way We Do (And What It Says About Us). Something very interesting that he mentioned was traffic jams are not caused by flaws in road but by flaws in human nature.

Vanderbilt, cites a finding that 12.7 percent of the traffic slowdown after a crash has nothing to do with wreckage blocking lanes; it’s caused by gawkers.

He adds, drivers will slow down to look at anything: “Something as simple as a couch dumped in a roadside ditch can send minor shudders of curiosity through the traffic flow.”
Go get the book and read it over. It might help to ease our traffic a little if everyone reads it. *wink

Enzyme

Enzyme is quite a popular word these days. Everyone seems to be talking about self health conscious, environmental friendly, healthy lifestyle and so on.

A fren of mine has given me a bottle of self made enzyme. It is fruit enzyme, but I am not sure how many types of fruit are in there. I just drop a few drops of enzyme into a 1l bottle of water and started drinking. The water tastes a little sour than usual, but well, it aint too bad.
In the past 2 weeks, I have managed to improve my constipation problem as I am able to do “big business” every day without fail. :D And also I feel more energetic.

Next, I’d make my own enzyme, probably starts with apple or dragon fruit.

Why we blog

Lots of people wondering why I blog, this is something I cannot handle well because my english is bad when come to writing. I know people been comment in my blog about my lousy English. I know you might have good English background, but what is wrong with people who started to learn and blog.

I got one comment and I decided to delete it off, just because that people who comment not dare to leave his/her name. You might be some one who not really doing good in blogging and jealous of people like me can start to blog. Well, I just wanna tell you that I am practicing writing when blogging.

Maybe you never follow my blog from the beginning; my writing is improving from day to day. For anonymous who left comment at my blog the other day, if you managed to find a blogger who has bad English like me? Please give chance to them as we all are learning. By bringing down their blogs, doesn’t make your blog looks good. And you dare to, please leave your name.

I am sick

Damn it as I am sick again, today I take MC and rest at home, the illness started since last night. Maybe it was due the combination of few reasons: haze, stress, not enough sleeps, depressed, and sick of work. kekekkee.

Good to have one day rest and lay at home without do anything since morning; afternoon is going to be busy again. because I need to continue my thesis and started to explore more in programming stuff as I like it very much.

This morning I sent an SMS to my bosses, I work in a very complicated company, as I have 2 bosses. So, in order to take MC I need to send SMS to these 2 people who always called me when I am not around.

In my SMS: I am on MC today, having fever and headache.

Boss 1 Replied: ok
Boss 2 Replied: ok but tomorrow we need to go customer side for meeting, ok?

I was like stun, I am only MC for today and my record is quite clean as I seldom take MC. So, I was thinking of reply: Yeah right, tell me about that. Who know tomorrow I am going to sick again.

But I end up SMS nothing to him, kekekeke.. This is life, we always doing something that not really like and repeats it when necessary.

Why we need system?

Maybe lots of people don’t really understand why we should have a system in the first place, system is to ease management team to review the performance of the actual production and get the clear picture of the production performance, in order to improve the lack in the production.

Here, they treat system like enemy and always ask me to cheat at the data and show the good performance to customer. What a good leader! By showing people on a good data by cheating, means that we no need to do improvement on our own side. And this company until now still not moving is because of this.

With system integrated in company, every process can be monitoring and tracking. It will help management team to improve their area of lacking by refer to the system. Just imagine a company without system integrated in their work space. All are so depending on paper work, when a thing happen, you might need to track back the document from the store that storing 100 boxes of document and you will like don’t know where to start.

So, do realize that system is important to help your work and not to block you from doing work or make your department bad with the bad performance data.

Friends who like to betrayed

People are saying working in same company will come out with some conflict and might betrayed by your own colleague. How this can happen, this happen when come to some situation and both of you having a different view about one particular thing, and it might affect performance of your work, they will choose to betray you. Scary isn’t it?

From my experience I saw lots of example of this thing but I never get it from the past, but unfortunately I got it yesterday. As one of my colleague who I treat like a friend and started the war of infernal affair and betrayed me and get along with some manager to scold me about I refuse to cheat data to show our customer.

This is a mess as I always get into this situation, and now my dear friend, you can just betray me because of I never cheat data for you. So, when you are complaining about the bad leadership showing by our management, please look at yourself first as you are same type with them.
