Serious about appointment?

I am having some appointment with my lecturer every Friday at 4pm for the thesis updates. And Yesterday I as usual went to UM to meet my lecturer since she said I need to be serious about appointments. And meet up with her every Friday.

I was there since 3:50PM and I knocked her door and waited for her for 1 hour and she never turned up for the appointment. I am having some thought that do they also serious about the appointment? This is not a first time I facing this kind of problem and I always got trap into a blank room when come to my appointment.

She always argues with me that she is busy, In fact I also busy nowadays. This is a big disappointment for me as I am hoping they can really serious about their duty and end up we are the one to blame if failed to submit reports to them. I even sent a reminder by morning and never got her reply since then, and I was scared if I never go, she will point at me that I failed to fulfill her requirement.

So, can they also serious about their commitment to us and serious with every appointment made?

Why we must sleep?

I always think of skip the sleep so that I can have more time to spend and get my thing done on time. I even tried not to sleep for 48 hours when I was in University time and end up I sleep for another whole day for recovery.

This thing happens to piss me off as I think those eight hours of sleep a day seems like a colossal waste of time, doesn’t it? Those precious hours could be put to use responding to customer’s email or hitting the spa for more relax. So why do we need so much sleep?

From some article, People stated that every creature in this world needs to sleep. Birds do it, bees do it, and even fruit flies appear to do it. So, why we have to question about sleep behavior for human being? Kakakakaka…

Sleep is actually time for our brain and body to rest and recharges again for the next day, Data suggest that one of the functions of sleep is to repair damage to brain cells. Many of us feel very tired when come to busy day and can sleep directly when hit the bed at home. I think this is normal, and when you rest more enough, you will response fast for your action and get the idea easily.

One of the ways we have of understanding why we need to sleep so much is to look at what happens if we don’t get enough sleep. It affects our personalities and our sense of humor. We may become irritable and less tolerant. So, please consider on proper and enough time for sleep, normal people should perform 7-8 hours of sleep a day.

I think tonight I have to sleep earlier because of the EURO 2008. Sleep first, then wake up for the match. Hehehe..

Another upset for EURO 2008

Last night, Netherland knocked out by Russia from EURO 2008 Quarter final. What an upset again and this is the 3rd runner-up team from Group stage upset the champions of the group stage. I am quite surprise with the playing style of Netherland last night, their formula just cannot work for Russian.

Russians are better side last night with the control and attacking football they played, this is definitely world class show that performed by Russia team. They deserve a win last night and I have no question about that.

Netherland ended their EURO 2008 road with handed Russia a ticket to Semi final that will meet up with Italy or Spain tonight, last night was a bad performance ever for Netherland in EURO 2008 and Sneijder is the bigger disappointment for the match, he just like showing his nervous all the time and losing his mind when get the ball, keep trying from long distance and it just cannot work.

Games between Italy and Spain can be another surprise? We will find out tomorrow morning 2:45am.

Stoopid TNB

i've moved in to my house more about 2 months now. i've gotten the first electricity bill on the 15/4 (with reading = 6kwh). and the 2nd bill came only 2 months after, which i got it 2 days back (17/6).

the bill stated that the last reading of my meter as of 15/5 was still only 6. but actually we've moved in since end of april and we did consume quite a large volume of electricity on the first month. so the reading cant be 6, as 6 was the same reading as April.

they've skipped our bill for a month, and therefore the amount to pay is slightly higher than it supposed to be. if u notice, the rate for the first 200 units is much lower. it means that we've lost the benefit of having the first 200 units at a lower rate. the amount to pay is now about RM20 higher.

and so i called TNB to check. they kept telling me that the reading is betul, cos it is N (duhh..). and i told them there's no way for it to stay at 6kwh until 15/5. and she still insisted that it is N. she then asked me to monitor for another 1 month to see if the problem happens again. and then i asked what should i do to complain? and she said there's nothing that they can do, cos it is only the first comsumption month for us, they cant see the average comsumption to justify :S

i am sick of the explaination and i think, maybe i should talk to my assemblyman? or has anyone encountered the same problem before and what did you do????

German Sausage vs Portuguese Eggtart

It's gonna be the first knock-out match for EURO 2nite. So buddies, please go to bed now and enjoy the game later :P

I think probably Portugal is the favored side 2nite (although Germany has been the bookie's favourite since the beginning of the tournament). But by looking at the ways they played so far, I must say Deutschland will have alot (i mean, really alot) of works to be done.

The germans' passing are not working, midfield not controlling, strikers not scoring. It's a thousand sighs for the germans.

But well after all, I still wish the germans to win. Ha! :D

PACT Analysis

As I am still stuck with my thesis for master’s degree, now I can easily master the PACT Analysis. And already tried to come out with some scenario and personas from the PACT Analysis and still searching for the final touch on my system development.

From PACT, you can clearly define and understand the key features of Interactive technologies. Let’s have some brief on the PACT analysis again. People (P) use Technologies (T) to undertake Activities (A) in Contexts (C). This is how you see how to do PACT analysis, and what to study when talk about PACT analysis.

I am really headache about documentation as I am not good in writing article, but from the blogging life, I improve my writing skills alots and will focus to finish my master’s thesis by end of this year. I think this year is gonna be a busy year for me as I will need to finish my thesis as I only have 1 semester left for my Master's Degree.

I will have to stay at home more and finish my thesis as soon as possible and graduate by next year. wish me good luck then.

EURO 2008 fever

Because of the Euro 2008, I am quite tired when come to work every morning. Every one is talking about EURO 2008 and topic of the day for lunch time will be Football. Now is almost reach quarter final, and qualifier from group stage are very clear, this morning was Portugal Vs Switzerland and Czech Vs Turkey. Turkey survived from 2-0 down and beaten Czech with 3-2 and reach quarter final.

I am quite disappointed with Portugal last night as they only put second team to play for the final match of the group stage. Just imagine you stay awake all night for their game and they come with the lousy lineup and even lost to Switzerland. I cannot take it la!!! But luckily Czech and Turkey’s games put me happy with their performance.

Tonight will be do or die for Germany, as they need to beat Austria to reach quarter final, people are putting the bet on Germany for this tournament. I hope they can really make it to quarter final and make the competition full of strong and favorite’s team. So, stay alert tonight for the match coming up.

Public Transport rocks PJ

From the head line from thestar.com.my, it stated that the PETALING JAYA: More than one million Klang Valley residents will benefit from the much awaited new Kota Damansara-Cheras rail transit line. This news is going to rock Petaling Jaya residence again as they can enjoy not to drive when going to town with the LRT station near their living places.

For this Kota Damansara-Cheras rail line, the Government had earlier said the new line and extensions should be ready by 2012. Sources said with the average construction period taking three to four years, work would have to start by the end of this year. I am quite excited with this news as I am staying at Petaling Jaya and I think I am quite happy with the development with Petaling Jaya area. People are starting to invest in PJ area as you can see lots of residence areas are being developed and still more to come.

This Railway is going to be a convenience public transport for PJ people to get down to KL area. I think after 5-10 years, PJ is going to crowded with public transport and people are thinking of moving to stay at here more than other places. I am great that I am living in PJ.

Motorists get their rebates

Yesterday was a busy day for motorists to get their fuel rebate at post office throughout the country. They started lined up by 7am. I was in Kelana Jaya Post office, and think of get my rebates as well. But after look at the queue, I decided not to get by last night.

From the star newspaper, I saw some news regarding to the claim and some are not even get the claim as their name if not in JPJ system. But how can these happen if they are already renewed their road tax? Most of the people are happy with the rebates and government even post up a calculation for the petrol price hike impact as motorist are only pay little bit more compared to before petrol price raise if they get the rebates.

From reaction of the petrol hike this time, government really act fast to help the situation, I think the petrol price is already become a must from now on, since the rebates is already cashed out. I better get my claim as well.

Petrol hike, news of the year

1 week after petrol price raised, people still put this issue as the main issue for the year. In a day I received like 2 forwarded email about petrol. I just got one for how to pump petrol to get the maximum petrol with the money you put. Save petrol, don't use petrol, replace petrol with water.

Some even forward an email content CEO of some company CEO come out with an idea to not pump Petrol at only 1 particular brand and force the petrol price down to like last time. Is that the actual way to make petrol price go down?

I even receive some junk mail about how to save money by using water to run your car. This topic can be running for few months from now. I think one day people will really give up on petrol price raise and stop from driving again. This situation will last for few months to go and I don't think people will sit back and see the raise without action. There are going to be big action from people who surfer from petrol hike.

Will see what is going on soon.

Free water from June

Selangor residents will get to enjoy the first 20 cubic meters of water free after all from June now that the state government has agreed to conditions set by water concessionaire Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd. I think this is good news for all the residents with high usage of water.

This new charges might not take any effect on people who use less water daily. Back to the tariff, the first 20 cubic meters charges is RM0.57 per CUM. Like me, I am using not more than 20 Cubic Meters per month and end up I need to pay minimum charges of RM6 per month. This is already 3 months in the rows I had been paying the same amount as my water usage for daily activities is very less and don’t even reach 20 CUM.

With free water for first 20 cubic meters means that I can enjoy RM0 per month from June? Or I still need to pay the minimum charges for processing fees? Another concern is for people who use less water might think this is not fair for them and they might start to practice more water usage. And end up with more water wastage.

So, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd needs to disable the minimum charges if they want to make people practice and save more water from wastage.

How Bad Can It Be

Every Malaysian must be talking about petrol prices today. Yes yes, our petrol price is up to RM2.70 (Ron 97), as of 5th June 2008.

Of course, our government is telling us that we are still the cheapest in ASEAN countries, EXCEPT for Brunei. Yes, government said we should compare ourselves with those net oil importers (Thailand, Singapore), but not the net oil exporters (Brunei, UAE).

Yes, there are rebates; there are new scheme to compensate us. But I would also like to know what happens to the revenue gained from Petronas? Aren’t we gaining big bucks from there? Why are we still paying 2 or 300% of car import duties? Is there any improvements (or improvement plans) to our public transportation?

And most importantly, fuel price hike doesn’t mean only oil price increase; there must be a butterfly effect to other industries. And the question is how bad can that be? And what have the government do to make things better?

Airasia Mega sales

AirAsia has returned with great promotions for 250,000 seats up for grabs with fares from as low as RM1 to domestic and regional destinations in line with the Mega Sale Carnival 2008. From Kuala Lumpur to destinations in Peninsular Malaysia the fares is as low as RM1 are for one-way. One-way tickets to certain destinations in Sabah and Sarawak and Southeast Asia are priced at RM20.

This is going to be a boost for people who headache for petrol price raise and need to think twice when think about going back to home town to meet their parents.

For people who need to travel when festive session can start to book from today with only RM1 one way. I will start to book some as well as I think taking flight is cheaper than taking bus and own transports.

A day in Kedah

Today is Saturday as I only manage to come back on this weekend for the early celebration for Father’s day and late celebration for mother’s day.

I reached Kedah by last night and immediately go to Jitra for the Thai food with my parent and my brother. Today was very busy with Dim sum at morning and shopping after the dim sum. Kedah are so happening with new Tesco building is ready with big apple inside the shopping mall. I bought donuts from big apple and let my parents taste new thing in town as they seldom buy taste new thing when we are not around.

I think this is a nice time for me in Kedah as I enjoy every moment I spend with my family.

Going back to Kedah

I am going back to Kedah by tomorrow, what an unfortunate event as the petrol price just gone up and I need to travel back to hometown for attending friend’s wedding. This trip is mostly to test out how much I need to pump to travel from PJ to Kedah.

But however I am quite happy to have an opportunity to hang up with my parent because I missed mother’s day last month and celebrating parent’s day with my parents together by this weekend. I really look forward for the event actually.

Another issues that I found out is how is going to be the expenses for people who need to travel long in order to meet their parent like me, will you be going back so frequently? I don’t think so, with the petrol price is up, people will think twice when come to festive session for the travelling back to hometown. Toll is another block for people who stay far away from hometown.

One of the thing governments can do to take out some burden for people who travel is decrease the toll fare. I hope government can do something to improve our life and minus our cost of living.

Petrol price up by 78 sen

Not to be surprise for all the Malaysian, Petrol Price increased more than 40 Percent from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per liter. Last night the whole Malaysia messed up with the long queue at petrol stations and caused a big traffic jam at KL. I reached home at 9Pm from office by 6PM. Stuck in the traffic for 3 hours.

Government still telling us that the raise are still lower compare to US and UK. Ok, that’s true from the statistic that shown by government. But do they control on all other consumer goods, services and luxury goods? That would be increase in price as well because of the petrol price increase.

Cost of living is going to be shooting up again. And people who live in Malaysia will surfer from the raise again. Criminal rate will be increase as well just because of the rising of cost of living. Government really needs to look into this as this is part of the inflation and also impact of the petrol price up.

Bus crashed again

Two passengers were killed and 17 others seriously injured when an express bus heading from Genting Highland towards the city plunged into a 10m-deep ravine along the Karak Highway yesterday. In the 6.30pm incident, the driver of the Genting Express bus crashed into a divider at the 25th kilometer of the highway.

The statement stated that it is believed that the 47-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, and veered left, in heavy rain. Nowadays bus crashes has become a normal scene and always happen to buses that travel long at highway. I got lots of bad experience with bus traveling, some bus driver are really not friendly and not focus when driving.

They will open up mirror and smoke while driving, this is a bad habit. Some drivers are like to speeding and complain about those who drive slowly in front of them. Government comes out with a statement and advice bus passenger to belt up while on the road. Not a bad idea but I think the most important thing to look into it is driver and also the bus condition because some bus are really old and not maintaining well.

This make me scared of taking bus when going back to my hometown as well. Since flight fares are decrease from day to day I think people will choose flight instead of bus.

Invest in Stock Market

Many friends told me that invest in stock market is very dangerous and you might lose some money if not invest properly. But what I found in Stock market investment is very interesting. Every day when you open up a live market using your internet explorer, the first thing you expect is something you predict can be happening on that day.

I learnt lots of thing when come to invest in stock market, learnt how to read some technical graph, catch up with news, and improved my English as well. There are few failed cases in my investment when I was not study hard on the share that I bought. I think invest in Stock market is not an easy thing as you need to do lots of study when come to stock taking.

I gone thru lots of magazine and books before go into the stock market, now I still studying current trend of the stock market and also term that used for the stock investment. I think I am just a novice for stock market investment, my hope is to some earn extra money and learn something that is out from my work. Who knows? I might earn lots of money from that in return.

Fuel price is going up again!!

A new fuel subsidy scheme to be announced tomorrow will take immediate effect to prevent further speculation. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the anti-inflation committee would decide today on the various proposals put forward by the Cabinet.

I think this is not a first time government decided to raise the price of fuel because they cannot subsidy more in fuel as the fuel price raise from day to day. Tonight there will be a long queue happen in Petrol station again or maybe will be tomorrow night. Because people are try to make a last call for the cheaper fuel before it raise again.

With fuel price raise, what is going to be down? Or every one’s salary should be up to the market review? I think first thing, government should look into is car price. If they don’t want to subsidy more in fuel then decrease the Car price so that people no need to surfer from the fuel price increase.

Working Environment concerns

I have been working with few type of environment since graduated from university. I think environment is the main concern to make you decide how long you can stay with your company.

Recently I found out that manufacturing is not a good place to work for IT people. After 2 years of manufacturing environment I decided to take a step to move forward and try to find for a new job in near future. This is because I am not comfortable with manufacturing environment.

Depends on what type of manufacturing company you work for as well. I am working in the local Manufacturing company which mainly sub-contractor of the big company like Epson, Nokia. I think this is the worst environment I ever experienced in my working life.

People at here are rude and most of them don’t really educated and always come out with F word during conversation. They like to shout at each other when discussing about the project and progress which ended with unsolved argument.

I think I am looking forward to work in IT Company again after 2 years of struggling and unsettle mood. Hope can source one in the near future. So, wish me good luck.
