Enjoy the training week

This week I need to attend long week training at some where near my house. It kind of enjoy because it take me 10 minutes to reach the place. But it only last for one week.

I started to realize that distance to work is the big issue for me, normally I need to travel for 1 ½ hours to work and now I only need 10 Minutes to reach the place for training. It is kind of enjoying. I think end up I will leave my current company for sure.
But don’t know how long I still can stay for the work.

Will see what will happen next week.

Too many browser type

nowaday you can find difference type of browser is using by users, and now every web site having some problem to maintain the layout problem for their website.
You might get your website layout placement correctly in IE but not in firefox, and you might get your website layout placement correctly in IE and firefox but not Safari.
Now you will have problem to check on google chrome as well.
For web developer, they have to install all the browser in order to test on it. I am just wondering why browser cannot just use same displaying method. which this will ease developer's work.
       
I think this is a common issue that people always when switching browser. Now I am working with some website layout and I have to install all browser to test out if the layout is supported.
       

IE7 is having a layout problem

I think Microsoft is going to discontinue on development of IE7 and they try to stabilize IE8. Some website like Facebook, you will find the layout is out when using IE7 to view. This is because of the CSS method is no longer supported by IE7.

Lots of web site need to undergo some serious layout re-code and get the layout in place like usual do. For those who still using IE7, please get a new version of IE from Microsoft.com and enjoy the latest plug-in by IE8.

A(H1N1)

A(H1N1) have been a hot topic in Malaysia recently. Even if you are from which part of the world, people are keep talking about prevention of A(H1N1) and how not to get closer with the infected people.

Mask is out of stock because of this virus, people trying to come out with the story that they have been gone thru from fighting with this virus. I hope people can still enjoy life as it is and gone thru together this crisis.

I do recommend that do wear mask when explore to public and drink more water and wash your hand more frequent to avoid infected by A(H1N1). And do take more vitamin C.

I need a holiday

Last trip I gone is actually last year, this year I never go for any trip. I think I need a trip in a short while. I am going to Hong Kong by end of August. I think physically and mentally I am tired.

This  year is a long year for me as I just changed my job and now is only go to 3^rd month of working period in new company. Been busy these few months and not even have time to read some book and update my blog.

 I really need a break.

Express bus fares up 30%

Express bus fares up 30%, I think this is not a new topic in town because it already up since last Raya. Government had allowed bus operator to impose the surcharge since last Raya, it cannot allow another hike in quick succession. After the increase people will fly with low-cost airline. As the fares is not much difference.

But still there are some people who have their own car and like to drive more. They will drive back with their own car. I think this raise is a bad move for bus operators during the economy downfall. To be competitive buses express company, there must be some one stand out and offer special price to passenger. Else people will think of alternative way to travel.

Airline will be the first to go for as they are competitive in cost and fare offer are much cheaper from since first introduced.

Credit card, good to just have one

Have you ever receive a phone call from some bank sales advisor that they trying to get you subscribe for their credit card service? Ignoring call from them make you cannot reject them to just subscribe for what ever they offer? You are not necessary to accept that.

Recently I got one as well, as this call is from a foreign bank, and I was using there service back to 4 years ago and they started to call me to ask my reason of termination. They called my hometown number that really can’t reach me at the beginning. As my mom felt lazy to entertain them, she just told them that she don’t have my contact number in KL. But after few days of disgusting calls, my mom finally gave my number to him.

He called me last Saturday and I rejected to him as I don’t feel like to have extra credit card. Because I am having 2 cards now really ease my life and both cards that I am having is free for life. I can’t find a reason for me to have another card, but he kept calling me until this morning. He finally gave up on me.

But personally, I do think that one or two credit card is enough for a person because it’s easy to manage. I think some people out there might agree with my opinion. So, one credit card is enough for a person or two.

Away for so long

Sorry for away for so long. I just changed a new job and trying to adopt new working environment. I am still struggling to adjust the life style and I think almost every one might facing when change job.

I will start to blog again once I find a stabilization of my working hours and blogging hours. Sigh~~

Banks set to increase interest on car loan

Base on current situation of the economy downfall, several banks are believed to be raising interest rate on car loans and the move will be implemented today. This move is mostly affected Non-national car only. I got it from the star newspaper today, actually I did heard about that when I was in a car dealer shop.

As I understand, a flat rate of about 2.2% to 2.8% is charged on loans for non-national cars although the effective rate over the duration of the loan could be higher. increment that I heard is about 3.75%, it's more than 1%. Base on the purchase price you might need to pay extra RM100 if the loan amount is about RM75000. I think you will be asking why car loans should go up when the base lending rate to which housing loans are tied is on a downtrend. However, car loans are fixed rate loans and not tied to the BLR.

I still cannot find any updates from any bank on their web site, I think information updates system are still slow nowadays as this is a bad news that might affect the business. You might look for nearest bank for more information about this interest increment.

The famous Photoshop and tutorials

I think almost every IT geek know about adobe Photoshop software. For those who are not familiar with it, I can briefly explain about what is adobe Photoshop and what it use for.

Adobe Photoshop is a professional image editing software package that can be used by experts and novices alike. Photographer are get use to it as they use it to edit photo that taken by their camera and show tremendous effect on the photo.

If you are not familiar with the software and hope to understand more about it, more comprehensive guidance can be accessed on the web or in the help menu of your version of Photoshop. I think you can easily get a tutorial from searching thru google.com.

I am kind of addicted with the software and amazed with the functions that build in the software. I think there are lots of picture editing software around for commercial use, but I still prefer photoshop as my choice for photo editing purpose.

Disappointment on some friendship

I think most of the people never serious about friendship in nowadays life. People are talking about money, motif, return and etc. I am kind of people who really serious about friendship and do trust in a person who I think they can be my best friend, or friends to share some life story.

Maybe some of you might think of I am still childish, but I do take friendship seriously. I don’t expect you to share everything with me to be my friend. At least you should not lie to me when telling me something that I am asking. It might ultimately bringing some impact on my decision as I already decided on something base on your convincing say.

Maybe when you face of a situation like me, a friend of you telling you something that make you slap a person who is innocent you know what I am trying to tell you. Or maybe a best friend who betrayed you to invest on a cheat investment units; you will know how I felt.

Toaster oven cannot use for bake cake

I have a toaster oven since move to new home, this is one of the gift that given during my house warming. After a year it keep safely in cabinet, I decided to take out and try to bake some cake because I search online, some people really remarks that toaster oven can use for baking cake.

So, I went to shopping for some cake ingredient and started my cake baking trial. After an hour of preparing I finally get all ingredients mixed and ready to bake. The recipe given is asking me to bake the cake for 40 minutes, but my toaster only have 15 minutes maximum and I adjust to 10 minutes and I start to enjoy my TV show, after a while some smoke come out from the toaster that really shock me. So, first 2 cakes were over baked.

I took it out and put a new one which I think 5 minutes can be enough for the baking timer, but end up the cake is only half baked. So, I made a conclusion that toaster oven cannot be use for cake baking.

I made a mistake

As I know any person can make mistake, it can be bad and some are no impact at all. Today I really made a big mistake in my share investment, I sold a share which rose just after I sold it. Damn it, by selling it earlier, I failed to earn RM160 extra. I was thinking of buying other share, as it prompt from my mind this morning.

In order to hold new share, I need to sell some because I have no extra money to hold more. I can’t stop telling myself that I made a terrible mistake as this might not be my first time, but why??

But fortunately I do earn some from this share, I think this is something I can really convince myself not to think about the stupid decision that I made this morning, hope this can be a lesson for me to grow in the future. Sigh~~

Lebron James bring me watch NBA again

Recently I am addicted with NBA games and started to watch back NBA games but only specifically on certain team like Cleveland Cavaliers. This is because they have a player who really plays nice basketball, his name is Lebron James.

I think I was out of NBA news since Micheal Jordan retire from playing basketball, but now this player really make me watch back the interesting NBA games. They called him King James as every game that he played, there will be some interesting action made by him, I first saw him played is when Olympic game.

James is a member of the United States men's national basketball team, winning the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and gold at the 2008 Olympics. For people who love basketball but never see him play before can really free your time for him and watch how good he is.

Some memory

I just checking back my old stuff for cleaning purposes today and I found out from letter I wrote 8 years ago with a girl from my village when she was 14 years old. These letter keep my memory back to the time when I still studying at UKM.

I know this girl when a camp at my hometown and I represent University to having some kind of motivation camp for primary school. I never know them in person as I already out to study at Kedah and later KL.

But however I lost contact with her after I move out from house at my Bandar Baru Bangi to Kajang. Yes, we lost contact and never keep contact again. It was started because of the house moving and some unhappy things that happen to my relationship. 8 years later and today I saw her letter and I don’t’ really know where is she now. Actually back to 2004 I tried to look for her at her house in my hometown but unfortunately their family already moved and no longer stay at my hometown.

I am a person who likes to keep memory and still keep some old belongings that already meet their expiry date. But I still keep it. Something it is good to have memory and these letters will be some good memory for me. I hope can really meet her back one day to see how she is doing now. Or maybe can start to write some mail again.

Geo Challenge in Facebook

Have you ever played Geo challenge in Facebook? I think this is quite a interesting game in Facebook and recently addicted to it. It also trains me for better understanding of the world geography.

The game tests your knowledge on four different things: Flags, country name, city location and landmark location. As I am not very good in geography and some of the places in the game really tested me and make me do some research about those places. This game really improves my knowledge about countries in the world. I do recommend to my friend and hope you enjoy too.

Why people still resign when facing economy downturn?

I think nowadays people are very scared to lose their job and try to work really hard to save their job, but some of my friend quit their job and unemployed right now. I think this must be some bad story behind the action. I think the most impact is from their boss.

As company are facing bad time, lots of CEO and managers in the company also facing tremendous pressure because of the economy downturn might get the company into a trouble. my friend told me that every meeting, his manager try to remind him that economy is bad and need to work hard for survive. He work for day and night to get his boss happy with what he have done and end up he got some bad word from his boss as well.

And at last he resigned from his current work which he stayed for 4 years of services. I think this is quite hard for staff to under an unreasonable boss in this current situation. I kind of don’t understand why their boss reacts like that, but end up your company will be losing a good employee from the bad treatment given to them.

Lights out for 28 March 2009

I think most of you know that we are going to show the global warming awareness and switch off the light by 28 March 2009, 8:30PM for 1 hour. This will involved KL and I am living in Selangor, I will follow the programmed to close my lights during that period as well.

Now the main concern will be down to iconic landmarks in KL like KLCC, KL tower. Will they off their light as well. There are still 11 days to awareness program. I hope they can really follow as this is a good example for everyone to save the planet.

Use of English in the teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science

Is there any problem to use English in the teaching of Mathematics and Science? I think the initial plan is good and might have some difficulty to implement it because teacher might not use to it by teaching Math and Sciences in English.

Today there are people protests for the issue, I don’t think this action taken is right because any suggestion made by government is good for people here. Teaching Mathematics and Science in English might improve the understanding of English. Seriously, I have been struggling with my poor English and this is because never have a good practice to improve it when I was in secondary school. So, I do think make more practices of English during school time is good.

People keep complain about some changes is because they are not used to the challenges. They might regret it when come out from school and start to work. So, please do not complain blindly because of the suffering of the changes.

Been busy with new layout

I think quite some times I never post to my blog, it’s because I am working on my changing job process and at the same time working on my new layout. This is because I found my layout is out of shape.

I think my own template can finish by this month, really looking forward for a new layout but still struggling with the layout objective.

Will trying to work hard on it and hopefully can really come out with some new layout.

Big company? Good company!

Many of you have been working in a big company, and are proud of the joining these big brand in the world. So, the question comes back to the benefits. As many big company not necessary provide good benefit and good working environment.

As for me, I am looking forward to work for a good company which can provide me a good environment to perform well in my job. They are take good care of their employee, and they treat their employee as their asset.

I am currently working in a local so called “big company”, but I don’t really think they are good enough when come to benefits and career path provided. They are always demand for more contribution but no rewards been given to good employee. I judge myself good in this company because I am able to provide solution in tight dateline and committed to work. One thing is not good about me is I don’t play office politic. Which I think if I spend more time in politic will cost me lots of time to finish my projects on time.

So, I am looking forward to work for a good company and appreciation should focus on contribution and not political achievement.

You may lost one day

After working for few years with some tremendous companies, you might find yourself lost one day. Why I say so, it’s because you might thinking of moving forward and current employer cannot provide you some career path that you always dream of.

Every day you come in to your company and find yourself stuck with the environment and maybe can say you are get used to the company’s situation. When you think deeper about your future, you might find yourself lost in career direction. You started to hack your head and worried about your future.

Worry might not be the solution of the lost, I think it’s time to move on. That’s what I am doing now, seeking for another company for career enhancement. Many of you might face the same situation as I do. So, we all together work hard for the destiny of yours.

Words that need to be avoided as a customer service agent

When customers face problems with their daily products, they get stuck with their daily work. Dig out the instruction book and there is a customer service line to call. They are calling with a hope that there are some solutions to resolve their problems. As a customer service agent what can you do is to provide the best tone and solutions to the customers to make sure they are satisfied with your attempt.

I used to work for a call center to provide solutions via phone and have gone thru some useful training. I think what I get from the experience is quite useful when it comes to handle customers. There are skills and experiences that I still keep until now. It helps when I am having conversation with customers.

As a customer service agent, there are words you need to avoid during conversations with customers.

1. “Are you sure…” This can cause you in a bad situation with customers as they feel like you are insulting them by assuming they don’t know about what they are doing. Example: One customer called and said that they are having problem with the Internet line and you are telling them that the line is working ok. You ask them to check on the device and they replied with the device is working fine. By then you ask “Are you sure the device is working okay?” Then you will get into a big trouble. For you information, this is what I always get from TM call center.

2. “Try to reset again..” Sometimes most of the problems can be resolved by resetting the machine, but not all. You should ask if the call-in person whether they’ve tried to reset before. If the person already reset the machine for 5 times and you ask them to reset again, you will see the reaction after the quote.

3. “That’s not my job” Some people like to push the responsibility around to the technical person especially front line customer service. That’s totally not right, because you are representing your organization and not just your front line. That makes customers think that they are calling the wrong person.

4. “I don’t know..” Don’t ever think of getting yourself out of the trouble by saying “I don’t know”. Why your company put you into customer service because you are the person with all kind of knowledge to solve customers’ problems.
5. “You’ll have to call….” It’s good to know that your department is not handling this case. So, you ask the person who called with the hope to contact someone else, this will cause you into a deep trouble as well. You can say customer have no knowledge on who to call. Maybe this is the third department they called and “Are you kidding me? You ask me to call another call center again??!!!?

When I was a customer service agent, I enjoyed receiving calls and I always respect customers who call for the solutions. Sometimes I get scolded as usual by frustrated customers, but when you really help the person who needs help, you will feel very proud of yourself. That was one good experience I had in my working life.

Too late to behave

Some people just having a bad attitude during work but when come to the year end they will start to behave and talk nice because they need a good appraisal to get a better review and bonus.

But don’t you think it is too late to behave like a nice worker because for the whole year, you never behave like one. I have a similar subordinate who having a bad attitude when come to work always demand for a better salary when come to the appraisal and this time she is not going to get a good appraisal because I already decided put his rating as just average.

When you are a worker who likes to have a good review for year end appraisal, you need to work hard the whole year, not just by end of the year.

Everyone like gossip

Gossip is something people enjoying everyday and likes to observe people and by return gossip about it when got free time. I am inside of the massage center while waiting for my girl friend for the massage session. There are 2 girls who work at the center keep gossip about things. And they just can stop talking since I am here.

They really enjoy the conversation to talk about others things. Customer who always come and with what car number also they are remembered. I found gossip is a common thing among of us, colleagues talk about bosses is some thing cannot be missed when they hang up outside of office.

Girls like gossip, especially people who found their work having too much of free time to chat. I think something it is too much for some one taking too much of time talked about other people and without reflect themselves. I do advices that don’t gossip too much because this is not a healthy activity to have.

Too dedicated to work

I find myself having too much of time in work recently until I almost giving up my personal life. Now I planned to get it back from what I am losing from last few years. I trying to catch up with my ex-colleague and trying to grab some updates from my friends.

One more thing I lost in recent years is my dream which is starts my own business. I always dream of having my own business and get out from my daily routine which will allow me for more time in my personal things. I will work harder on 2009 to achieve what I have dreamed for.

I will start to draw some pictures to hang at my house. I have a little drawing talent when I was child and now I planned to have it back which start to draw some simple drawing.

I might buy a new DSLR by this month and start to shoot some wonderful picture myself. This is always my dream to have free time for my hobbies.

My colleague used to tell me that I am too dedicated to work until I stressed myself to achieve something and this is a good time for me to release some tension and enjoy my life.
