Free Your Books project

I have been sideline for a while from this blog. Been busy with my new project and going to run like a headless chicken around Malaysia to promote this concept.

Free Your Books project will need public to contribute their used books to us, and we will do something good with it.

I believe literacy can break the cycle of poverty. Our main goal is to setup libraries around Malaysia and to get Malaysians to read for free. We will then put some of the used books at the reading corners of certain specific locations. Lastly some sellable used books will be putting to sell online in order to cover the running cost of the project and a portion of the book sales goes to charity purposes.  This will promote environmental friendly concept around Malaysia with used books donated will not ended at landfill or storage boxes.

It is kind of new concept for Malaysia and I think most of the Malaysians will be curious on what we are doing right now. Statistic show that we, Malaysians seldom have a read on book, I think this is because we don't plant this beautiful culture since young.

Please help to spread the words on this concept and get this project run successfully in Malaysia.

Express bus fares up 30%

Express bus fares up 30%, I think this is not a new topic in town because it already up since last Raya. Government had allowed bus operator to impose the surcharge since last Raya, it cannot allow another hike in quick succession. After the increase people will fly with low-cost airline. As the fares is not much difference.

But still there are some people who have their own car and like to drive more. They will drive back with their own car. I think this raise is a bad move for bus operators during the economy downfall. To be competitive buses express company, there must be some one stand out and offer special price to passenger. Else people will think of alternative way to travel.

Airline will be the first to go for as they are competitive in cost and fare offer are much cheaper from since first introduced.

Online’s opportunity

I am working on something that really can work out and make me out from the daily work routine, and still struggling to find one. After move to new house, I think it’s time for me to rethink and create some web site to make some extra profit from my work.

I actively blogs for earn some extra money, but it seem like I failed to earn more to make my dream come thru, what should I do next? This is a big question for me. I will come out with some web site to create profit online, and I think this is the easiest way to take me out from the daily work. Don’t you think so?

Will see what I can do in the near future. Really need to unpack my things and start something before it’s too late (I am getting older. ) kekekeke..

Cheap and good Web Hosting

Recently I am looking for a new hosting plan as my existing plan is going to expired soon in July 2008. Still in the process on doing some comparison and survey on hosting plan I should go for.

I am thinking of switching to more cheap hosting plan with more features like unlimited domain hosting. My current hosting plan only allows me to park for 1 domain and even it’s cheap. But not convenience enough for me to add more domain and build more web site. Payment for the web hosting thru paypal is good for me as I got some money and actively in my paypal account. After web hosting consideration and sign up, I will start to plan my ebusiness soon.

How Currency Exchange Rates Affect Business Opportunity

This is part of the knowledge I earn from this company. My company is a semiconductor manufacturer.

Let’s start with the product’s production cost. Company A won a bid in manufacturing handphone chipset for Company B from Japan, and the stated production cost is RM0.0235 per unit, comparing to self-production cost of RM0.0245 after the currency conversion.

The currency exchange rate obviously plays a role here, where Company A might lose the business after a result of a 7 per cent decline in exchange rates for Yen, the cost will go down to RM0.0225 with Company B to go for self-production. Which means a better rate compared to outsourcing to Company A. From there, Company B might decide to cut down the production volume outsourced to Company A.

Same concept when we want to sell a product at ebay or amazon, when RM currency exchnage rate increases againt USD, people will need more USD to purchase the same product. If the product is considered more expensive after currency exchange, do u think people in US will still buy from Malaysia?

Actually for companies that are liaising with overseas market, currency exchange rate effect might be in considerations to attract more business.
