I lost my ATM card by Tuesday night and I managed to block it yesterday after I realize that the card is lost, thank god that my money is still save in the account. So, today I am went back to the branch at PJ SS14 where I lost my card to do the ATM card replacement and the service person advice me that re-open an account is the total solution for replacement of my Maybank ATM card as this account I open at Bangi branch. If there is anything happen to my account they will need to call the Bangi branch to verify the signature for my transaction as the signature I signed 6 years ago faded.
So, after a discussion I decided to close my Maybank account as I actually not really like to deal with Maybank because of the charges when you exceed the limit of the transactions. The charges is not a big matter if they can provide a good solution, with re-open an account to solve the lost ATM card problem, I really not satisfied with the solution given.
And the best thing is when I was at the branch for the closing account; one guy was there to complain that he always charged when his salary paid into his Maybank account. The counter assistance said that his account is belonging to outstation account which the charges will bill according to the account region and his account is outstation account. He got the same advice to close current saving account and open again at here. What a mess, so if let say one day he move back to his hometown, he need to close and reopen again?
Don’t you think this is not reasonable to make the system goes like this. I think Maybank really need to review their policy and make the service better in order to get more customers.
yes, their policy to close an account and openning a new one is rediculous. Their service should be "friendly" to their customers and not make their customers' life worse.
ReplyDeleteSo, I did the right choice by closing down my Maybank's account and switch to others bank for my own good.
