Video conferencing

Today, I help factory manager to setup a video conferencing. They found it the technology is now relatively cheap and prices are falling all the time. That is a interesting move for them, as they started to realize that improvement of the technology ease our daily activities.

However today, It turn up to be a lesson for me to learn out that never ever work for people who don't appreciate technology or maybe can say they never appreciate IT people. They only treat that people like us is here to work for them to solve some problem related to IT.

My Factory manager is not an IT guy. He always says that IT is the most stupid thing in this world. As technologhy moving, he needs to learn up new things. I know this is some sort of factory culture. He even mentioned once that Computer is the stupid course to take for Degree. His theory is after you finish the course, the programming skill that you learn from your class is no longer use in the market. sigh~~

I proposed lots of Idea to help internal system, but if the enhancement needed some investment, they will refuse to look further. but as i know that I cannot just stop at here and let these people influence me from moving forward and learn new things.I will keep moving.. cheer~~~

Sense of design?

I got a staff that really doesn’t have sense of design. Color that using for her web design is totally out from the corporate view. The design is like for bistro or maybe for girl accessories shop like that. I am really pissed off with this girl.

Our corporate color is light blue and white, all system design should include blue and white and make it standard, but she put all the fancy color inside like red, yellow, dark blue, pink.. What the heck!! When I ask her why she put this kind of color, she said to make our company system more pretty. I really almost fainted. But this also become one of the issue when come to deal with this stupid girl, as previously I been mention I got an attitude problem staff, surprise! She is the one. And she even shouted at me and said that I don’t have sense of design???!!!!

What a mess !!! can some body help this girl out from my company. I willing to pay good money for that. :)

Dream job

Dream job!! What a big words, had you ever struggling about find one in your life?
Actually what can be define as a “dream job” for you? I am sure every one has their own one in their mind. So am I.

My “dream job” is almost the same with every individual, like no need to work so hard, but still generate income monthly. The job can allow me travel across the countries, and all the expenses will fully paid by company. What a dream.. yeah right.. As I mentioned just now, this is just a dream job.. kakakakaa…

Seriously I know there are lots of people still thinking the same with me. They are like me, always looking for alternative way and make myself out from my daily routine. Some how every one knows about this concept, but only few can really make it as reality. I always question myself: Am I the one in the list to make myself successful and out from the daily routine?

Recently I am working on the e-business, but unfortunately unable to find a good source to sell it at Ebay. I always think of doing some home business and lead myself to my “dream job” if it were successful.

Cheated

Last night, I went to bank for bank in cheque that got from company's claim. Got one china People came to me and told me that He actually got robed by robber and need some money for dinner and stay.

At first I not really care about what he said. When I am about to drove away with my bike, there is a women that came to me and the guy told me that She actually his friend and also victim of the robber. And he told me that He will return the money to me after he got his father by today. So, what in my mind is what if their story is real? So, I decided to give some money to them to just at least and buy things for dinner. The girl is really looking like the one who kena robe like that.

Today I realize that this thing actually happen everyday at KL and My colleague even told me that they are actually making big money from that.
So, I decided to write it here and share with u all. Although I just gave them some small money, I hope you all alert about this and maybe next time they will come with other plan like really robe people.

Take Note

Recently, I been packed with lots of tasks on hand. this force me to buy a personal notebook to note down my task pending. Just cannot imagine I have to come into this situation. But I found the personal notebook is very useful for me to take note on what need to be finish in coming week.
I think I need a palm handheld to organize my life better. I need a palm with a reminder that can remind me of task that never finish and get it done on time.

I want to start from that is because I refer to some article, some people really making good profit at ebay. And one of the reason I prefer selling at ebay is because I got Paypal account which stored my Blogging income and I might use it for pay some transaction fee for make it online and sell.

I need to know about how to sell at other country like UK and US as well, this is just a beginning for me to start up a e-business from other's web site, like ebay and amazon.

Weddings

I just back from My hometown and attended my friends weddings. what a tired weekend.
I have to rush for 3 wedding dinner from the weekend. Friday(bagan Serai, Perak), Saturday(Bidong, Butterwordth) and Sunday(Alor Setar, Kedah). All the way up to the north.. sigh~~~

Very tired now, thinking of really need some rest tomorrow. But thinking of the work pending at office, I have to drag myself to work also tomorrow. Next week is gonna be another busy week, as I need to heading to Kuantan for my friend's wedding as well.

One cent coin to be demonetized

I just got news from the star that government will implement rounding mechanism for over-the-counter transactions by April 1 next year. That means that all payment totals will either be rounded up or down to the nearest five cents.

This implementation is good for me, I always keep all the one cent coin all around my room. I tried many time to carry together all the coins when gone out to buy something. But it ended up I gave up paying with one cent when come to buying goods like 1.99, just because very hard to take out all the one cents from you pocket when you mix up with keys and all the stuff.

So, 99-sen a popular sales gimmick cannot be implement any more, then maybe Hypermarket need to figure out put like 95-sen to let consumers into believing that the prices of goods were low as a replacement for 99-sen gimmick. What an interesting move.

My laptop

I think my laptop is one of my gadgets I like to bring along nowadays. I upgraded memory to speed up some multitask responses. This laptop is with me quite long time ago, I think should be around 2 years. I bought it after joined this company.

Back to 2 years ago, I think convenience is the word that made me make up my mind to buy this gadget. That time, I used my Credit card to apply for the monthly 0% interest Installment and I only paid for RM300 ++ per month. In fact, I have another desktop at home that is for hardcore application and system to be run for.

This laptop giving me lots of convenience for my work and also study. I enjoy having this gadget when hang up with friends at Starbucks and any place with wireless, when going to library also, I will bring along laptop to get online and catch up with the world’s news and more.

photostat job

The story should start from yesterday. I got 2 books from my lecturer about interface design yesterday. My lecturer gave me the book titlse and asked me to get it from the library. After searching for an hour, the two books that I was searching were actually not available in the library. Not even a close one.

So, I went back to visit my lecturer and try to borrow the books from her to photocopy. She loves her book so much and insisted that wanted me to just photocopy for a few pages or maybe a few chapters that are useful for my thesis, and I need to photocopy at the photostat shop in UM. After waited for an hour, still no sign showing that the shop is openning soon.

So, I decided to go back to her and ask for permission to carry the books back and have them photostated outside. From the conversation, she sounded like not willing to go her books. So, I told her that I will photostat myself as my company has a photostat machine. The agreement dealt as I will do it today.

Interesting part is, today I took these 2 books and photostat it myself. And I learnt something from that. Photostating job is not as easy as you think!! I used up 1 and a half hour to just photocopy 130 pages in total from the books. As you neeed to take care of the sequence of the book and need to photocopy it both side of the paper. It is far more complicated than you think, you may try to figure out yourself. So, do appreciate your clerk who help you to do the photostat work all the while.

Maybe this is what I have to see from part of my life. That’s why I always appreciate what I get today.

A PACT analysis

For my thesis, I need to focus on PACT analysis. What is PACT analysis? PACT analysis is one of the procedures used to determine the utility of an interactive system. It also can refer as a framework for designing interaction systems. This is my first attempt to know about the term after been intro by my lecturer about it.

Here is some little description:

People: relevant user characteristics and skills
Activities: how is the activity currently carried out? Why? What can be improved?
Context: the environment of the activity
Technologies: what tools are used now, and how might new developments be used?

Things to be done

Just refer to the previous post Am I too serious about my work? I got into a sleepless night and think out what things to be done and put it as high priority in my task list.

Since I have been struggling to finish my master for the past few years, I decided to put my master’s degree’s thesis as my 1 priority in my list. I need to really focus on the thesis. Today I went to UM and meet up with my lecturer again. But from what I see is She is really uncertain to help me to work out my thesis, as She also not sure what she can help, some how the meeting was really useless in the sense of She also lost to provide me some Idea. So, I have to really work hardly in order to finish my thesis on my own.

E-business will be my second priority of the list, I need to get out from my daily work to focus more on what I can deliver in the short period of life. I miss so much my home town, because of the daily routine, I not able to go back so frequently to visit my dearest parents who live in Pokok Sena, Kedah.

3rd will be my home, I just bought a house at PJ and going to complete by end of the year. I started to calculate the budget for renovation, and try to ask around some idea for renovation.

Am I too serious about my work?

I have been struggling about this question since last few years, I been deliver on time all my projects. Never take MC if not necessary. I even committed to my work and come to work almost every weekend to make sure my department function well.

In fact, I am just a normal staff that taking a small piece of the income of my company. I am really underpaid when compare with my x-classmate. But my personality not allows me to slumber during my work.

Currently I am struggling to handle my staff for let them commit to their job, I also have a small though that “Am I too serious about my work?” My staff even can take MC for 3 days just after a dental extraction, what I can do is just keep quiet just because I don’t have rights to question about that. At the other hand I need to follow up their unfinish tasks and make sure all the things working fine. Is this the right culture for working environment?

Really, sometimes I really though that I am too much when doing my job. Should i relax and don't force myself by think too much for work?

e-commerce

The word "e-commerce" has growin remarkably for the past few years. I've been working closely with this term, only web portal I mean. But I still don’t have experience on selling products thru internet.

I am about to create my own e-business soon, many of you might think “what makes me think of starting an online business?” Very simple, as I can see my friends are doing well in this area. So, when you see a real example with your eyes, you might get interested to start one as well. :)

Starting from now, I will start studying the e-business market and also study the trend of the e-business online to get ready when the source is in for me to sell online. What an interesting start for me.

Defect Tracking Tool

My company is looking for a defect tracking tool since there is like piles of bugs raised daily. Therefore, having a defect tracking tool seems to be essential. But besides handling defect tracking, we need also a project management tool. So the tool should be a 2-in-1 thing.

We’ve evaluated quite a number of tools. Names like Jira, AutomatedQA’s AQDevTeam, Seapine’s TestTrackPro and ManageEngine’s ServiceDesk. We think Jira and AQDevTeam are the better ones, but they still haven’t reached our comfortable buying zone. They can meet our defect tracking requirements (the basic ones, but find it hard to generate reports out from all of them), but merely on project management functionality.

So it is still yet to reach buying stage. Any tools that you guys are using and you find it user-friendly and feature-rich? Recommendations are welcome!! :)
